EAA Board Appoints New Directors
The EAA Board of Directors, at its meeting Tuesday, May 8, appointed two new members to positions on the board to fill unexpired terms. Chairman Luana Buckner (middle) administered the oath of office to new district 8 director Craig Massouh (left) and new district 14 director Dr. Juan Sanchez (right).

Uvalde Pool in Stage 3, SA Pool in Stage 2
The EAA declared Stage 3 mandatory pumping reductions for Edwards Aquifer users in the Uvalde Pool on May 10, 2012, and Stage 2 in the San Antonio Pool on May 3, 2012. Critical period reductions remain in effect despite recent rains based on water levels measured at the region's two primary index wells. -
Final Public Hearing on Redistricting Plan
The EAA will hold one final public hearing on its proposed 2012 redistricting plan Wednesday, May 16, at 6:00 p.m. at the EAA Conference Center located at 1615 North St. Mary's Street in San Antonio. -

Budget, Fees Support HCP
The 2012 EAA budget is supported by a program aquifer management fee in addition to its regular aquifer management fee in order to fund the Edwards Aquifer Habitat Conservation Plan. -
HCP an Effort to Protect EAA Region
The Edwards Aquifer Habitat Conservation Plan ( HCP) seeks to resolve the longstanding conflict between the federal mandate to protect threatened and endangered species associated with the Edwards Aquifer and the region's dependence on the same aquifer as a primary water resource.
